After graduating from Nijmegen University in Private International Law, Company Law and Competition Law, Hans has been working as a lawyer since 1977, first in Breda and from 1978 in Maastricht.
In addition to his work, he is a board member of various social organizations and a supervisory director of a medical clinic. His practice has an international orientation (in English, French and German). Besides general practice, his main areas of expertise are corporate and competition law, intellectual property and labor law, as well as inheritance law.

Hans Pfeil has registered the Employment Law and Intellectual Property Law as main areas of law in the register of legal areas of the Netherlands Bar Association.
On the basis of this registration, Hans is obliged to obtain ten training points in each registered main area of law every year in accordance with the standards of the Dutch Bar Association (NOvA).
